Welcome. I'm the freckle faced photographer and owner of Katherine Jane Photography. My studio is known for organic wedding & portrait photography, stellar customer service and warm living room style studio {pet friendly, penny candy, champagne, organic juice, cappuccino & a cotton candy machine.} When not in the studio I can be found traveling the world, antiquing, making fondue {the only other things I can make are sangria,salsa,chocolate chip cookies & monkey bread}, untagging myself on facebook,surfing in Costa Rica, wearing my Hunter rain boots even if it's not raining outside drinking coffee with sugar and cream while still in bed, decorating my house {antiques please} , sneaking my dog onto my favorite beach in Maine, using typewriter font and bragging to the world that I'm married to a Boston firefighter. My shy husband is the love of my life {I adore this image of us messy hair and I don't care.} We have a dogchild named Ernie and yes he is the studio mascot he might or might not have his own facebook page.

married Abby & Bryan on Great Diamond Island, Maine

This is a long blog post. I know. I can’t help it..I love a Maine wedding. I spent every childhood summer in Maine. I have a soft spot for Maine, Maine people and Maine weddings. There I said it.

Abby & Bryan call Greenwich, CT home but were married on a dream of an island called Great Diamond Island located off the coast of Portland Maine. Abby’s grandmother has a postcard perfect home on the island and Abby always thought that it would be a perfect location for a wedding…she was right. We traveled to the island by ferry along with the band,food,flowers and even some guests. We were then greeted by the neighbors, family ,friends and their vans, golf carts, pick-up trucks and chauffeured over to the wedding day compound.

Abby’s laugh could be heard before she was seen…if you are reading this and know Abby then you KNOW that laugh. The girls got ready at grandmas house and Bryan and the boys were just down the dirt road doing what guys do before the ceremony..figure out how to pin the boutonnieres and on which side to pin them.

A lot of work and planning goes into coordinating an island wedding and it all worked out beautifully. Such an amazing day/night. Sweet family & friends…and they now how to party….the dance floor was packed all night long…by packed I mean packed like people where ON the floor.

PS. Thanks to mother nature for not letting it rain until the very last minute!!
